The framework outlines how districts can support students in building the knowledge and skills needed to make informed career and education decisions.<\/p>\n<p>Unsure about what the MCDM contains, and how to meet its requirements with your students? Good news! We have also developed a <a href=\"https:\/\/help.xello.world\/en-us\/Content\/Local\/MI_Completion-Standards.htm?Highlight=michigan%20scope%20and%20sequence\">MCDM and EDP scope and sequence guide<\/a> to assist you with meeting your requirements.<\/p>\n<p>These components work together to ensure students understand themselves, explore career options, and build a clear academic plan.<\/p>\n<p>Three of the main components of the MCDM that can be completed in Xello are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A student\u2019s EDP<\/li>\n<li>A student\u2019s Talent Portfolio<\/li>\n<li>A student\u2019s 4-year plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How Xello helps accomplish the EDP<\/h3>\n<p>Xello helps K\u201312 students create personalized roadmaps for future success through self-knowledge, exploration, and planning.<\/p>\n<p>Starting in seventh grade, school educators or counselors are tasked with helping students begin developing an EDP, which includes components like career goals, course selections, career options, and much more.<\/p>\n<p>With many requirements to meet, it\u2019s essential to find a tool that will help you and your students be successful. Xello is that tool!<\/p>\n<p>As students complete the various assessments and sections in Xello, their EDP comes to life, and provides you with the reportable metrics you need for success. The EDP becomes a personalized, living document via Xello Portfolios, which provides students with a way to create, maintain, and share their EDP. Parents can easily review their child\u2019s EDP at any time through <a href=\"https:\/\/help.xello.world\/en-us\/Content\/Get-Started\/Xello-Administrator\/Welcome-Families-to-Xello.htm\">Xello\u2019s Family portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can feel confident knowing that your students can fulfill their EDP and the expectations set out for them in the MCDM in Xello.<\/p>\n<h3>Empower students to build their Talent Portfolios<\/h3>\n<p>As outlined in the MCDP, students are introduced to the purpose of a Talent Portfolio starting in seventh grade.<br \/>\nIn Xello, the About Me section serves as the foundation of a student\u2019s Talent Portfolio by helping them capture self-knowledge, experiences, and achievements. By completing the components and assessments on the About Me page, students can easily begin building their Talent Portfolio:<\/p>\n<p>1. To work on fulfilling the requirements of the Talent Portfolio, students should complete their About Me profile in Xello.
